so lets open up the lines of communication. i'll keep this first post updated (and mods feel free to update with info as you find necessary)
we will be neighbors with NorCal FJ's and they have an incredible BAR/KITCHEN set-up. i say we get our act together and organize a nice grub-fest for saturday night. (for those of us going up thursday night to set up...we can just wing it thurs and friday) Kitchen and bar area will be set up for our cooking needs. Everyone BYOF and BYOB and with the food....if you'd like to bring enough to share for a foodfest...i'd suggest bringing enough for 10 people. update on WOOD: i arranged to have a cord of wood delivered to our All-Cal site on thursday evening. $125 (plus $6 park entry fee) per cord. If we need more wood all we need to do is call him and he'll deliver more whenever we need it. hes close. we MIGHT have to do a truck to truck transfer...depends on where we set up/where we need wood dropped. once we get there and do our land grab.....and figure out our dealio......i'll call shane and he'll bring wood. ONLY THING.....i'll put up the money but i need to make sure that between all of us we chip in.....i cant afford to host the wood. wish i could.....so just promise to throw some $$ my way. food suggestions: veggies/dip chips baked beans chili veggie kabobs for grilling meat kabobs for grilling so post up when you plan on driving up and what you'd like to bring to eat, etc. THURSDAY (time to be determined) BoBoNel (cooking stove, tarp, wood, large folding table, hot dogs, saurkraut, rolls) * Me, angela and lynette are leaving no later than 10 AM. Munkay (burritos and fixins) 4x4 groupie Funjunkie - leaving after 5pm'ish Fjessence bohsCruzn (thursday 5 pm'ish) brian (pm) FRIDAY hans started a "friday caravan" thread. click here for details: the mainsters (9ish) mtnkraut (8ish) sanderhawk - from orange (camp stove/pots and pans) gunslinger1999 (leaving mojave 5 0r 6 pm'ish) poker spert SATURDAY Mrchat138 (5:30 am from oceanside but will change time to caravan with others) CADavebert (noonish from OC) MORE INFO: Here is some additional info posted on Norcal's website: EQUIPMENT (as of 2:30 AM on 10/29/09) * please note, if you would like to contribute any of the items below, but are not planning to arrive until after 12:00 PM on Friday, please give it to someone who will be heading down earlier on Thursday as most of this equipment will be required for setting up base camp. Ride jumpseat in a more experienced driver's rig before trying things out on your own! * Do not speed over uncontrolled, unobserved dunes - know what's on the other side before jumping or speeding over dunes * Deflating your tires is highly recommended (air stations are available on the beach and at the gas stations in town) * Dogs must be on a leash at all times - Informative post can be found on the SoCal FJ Cruiser Forum. * Please use the restrooms or PETT toilets - digging holes is not an option unless you don't mind your own kid or family member burying themselves in sand and finding a nice surprise. * Do not litter, bury bottles in the sand or place bottles into the fire * Abide by the speed limit while driving on the beach - you will be ticketed if you go over it * Be respectful when playing music loud - not everyone likes your music. No loud, amplified music late at night. * Do not do anything that will have serious repercussions on the entire group. Remember, you are representing the off-road community. * Common sense is your friend * Violating any of these tips could result in partial/full expulsion from all future trail runs and/or major NorCal/SoCal/AllCal events * Have fun! With that in mind - let's be sure to bring plenty of our own supplies to pitch in and get our major group camp nicely set up and equipped. __________________

I plan on leaving 0530'ish on Saturday morning from Oceanside. I would love some convoy company, so I can adjust my time for anyone else leaving Saturday morning!
I am a born and raised city boy so I am REALLY new to the whole camping/outdoors thing, so I dont have much outdoor gear to bring or share, sorry. I am open to bringing anything else needed though; wood, charcoal, etc... So if anyone can think of what they need, I will be happy to help!!!

Chris,
I`ll be leaving from Orange between 3-4am on Friday . I was looking at your food lists and was wondering for how many people should I be bringing for? I`ll see if I can round up some firewood also.

IF I am able to make it (job-dependent, i.e., my arse might FINALLY have a job!
) I will bring stuff for burritos! Tortillas, meat, cheese, shredded lettuce, chopped onions, tomatoes, sour cream, and salsa! I am really lacking in the camp kitchen department, so will need to use someone's camp stove to heat the meat up and maybe use a big frying pan to heat the tortillas. ![]() Chris, I'll be in close contact with you so you'll know whether I can swing the trip or not! If I am working, definitely won't be able to go up on Thursday, but could probably swing Friday after work (depending on the trail pup situation and whether he will be at Pismo or not). Hopefully we can figure something out that will work for everyone! ![]() It's sneaking up on us! Two more weeks!
