Default 4x4 suspension on a 4x2

I'll be adding 4x4 suspension this weekend... I've read FJdaves thread... I'm just curious does it really level you out evenly? If I needed to add spacers what is recommended? What size? Brand? Ive heard they tend to shift after time.... Anyone got some laying around? Lol thanks

sweet, it raises the front up a bit to be more level not fully but better than 4x2 stance.

Joey,

The 4x4 fronts will kind of level out your 4x2 rig. I went the 1" (lifts 2") spacer route to level out with 4x4 fronts on my 4-2 back in the day just to give it a little more of a lift up front. I then went with a Rough Country spacer lift, which is probably the most economic and functional (IMO) spacer lift kit. There is also extremetrucktoys, which specialize in spacer lift kits. There is Daystar, Readylift and Revtek used by some of the Trail Team rigs. Lots of folks ran spacer lifts back in the day as an alternative to OME, which was one of the only coil and shock lift kits out back in late 2006 early 2007. I remember posts with pics of there shiny new spacers...ah the old days! The lift market is now full of adjustable coilovers. If you can afford it, go with an adjutsable coilover. Spacers are ok if you are not going to see dirt that often. Check with Steve AKA Sanderhawk as he has ran spacers up front for a long time.

I have my rough country 1.5" spacer, which will lift your front end almost 3" if you want them. you can have them as I have no need for them. I also have 5100 non-adjustable Bilsteins from an off road pkg FJ that you can have as well. You need to remove your OEM fronts and replace the shocks and add the spacer to the top. The front might be to high compared to the rear though.

I got my adjustable 5100s for $189 w/ free shipping.

So adding the bilstien non adj w RC front and the DS rear 1.5 inch will be even front and back or will the rear be slightly higher?
